"You Can Be Like God"

Can we be like God?  The answer isn't as simple as it appears.  The answer is yes and no.  If God played golf what would His score be?  I'm sure my golf game wouldn't measure up to His.  Could you type or text as fast as He could?  I doubt it.  Could you predict the stock market like He could?  could you counsel or advise people as well as He could?  And yet Jesus says, "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

If one is to take this command seriously one must ask what it means to be like God?  And the answer to that question must be doable, otherwise Jesus would be giving us a command we couldn't carry out.  Jesus isn't like that; He doesn't ask us to do things that can't be done.  His commands are really our enabling.  We can be like God!
