When Beliefs Survive!

The past two weeks we have spoken about colliding beliefs.  Colliding beliefs can leave as much damage in its wake as colliding vehicles.  So, where do we go from the collision?  We want to survive the collisions we encounter.  What does the Bible teach about surviving the collision of beliefs?

I believe the key to survival is finding beliefs that are constant and unchanging.  Many of the beliefs we have held dear change or evolve.  If we have held those beliefs as constrants or unchanging, we are devastated and shook to the core by the perceived shifting sands of belief!

When we find those immovable beliefs and allow our confidence and faith to become anchored to those beliefs, there is a peace that passes all understanding.  The most remarkable thing I have experienced in life is being around people whose lives are in peril and watching them display the peace of Jesus Christ.

They have found their path of survival.  The Bible stated it this way: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That is surviving.  No, it's more than surviving!  It is experiencing the Kingdom of Heaven now, even when at death's door.  It is resting in all that we know to be true--that some things are eternal: Faith, Hope & Love.  But the greatest is LOVE!
